SAS® Viya is a cloud-enabled, in-memory analytics engine. It uses elastic, scalable, and fault-tolerant processing to address complex analytical challenges. SAS® Viya provides faster processing for analytics by using a standardized code base that supports programming in SAS®, Python, R, Java, and Lua.
At installation, these packages are either downloaded from an Internet repository or a mirror of this repository at your site. You can choose to update these RPMs independently of each other. By default in the new SAS Viya, the SAS Identities Service will pull your users UID and GID information out of the configured LDAP provider. This, in combination with this environment variable, spawns PIDs for your user's CAS sessions as their UID/GID. The SAS Viya 3.5 release adds support for restoring from SAS backups to physical or virtual machines with different hostnames and IP addresses from the original environment. This is possible as long as the target environment shares the same deployment topology as the source environment, including: SAS Viya provides a license in two file formats: a traditional text file and a new JSON web token file.
